Very well done cafe/tea house/bar, quiet but not boring, balcony with a sea view, a design company owns it (I think!) – it shares the premises! So the design is tasteful, and not tacky. Unfortunately I didn’t get a picture and we never got around to going back. Hopefully it won’t go out of business if it has the support of the design company! Jiayou quiet bars in Shantou!

There is a post about LA I wrote just after we started up myshantou. In English (in my use of it anyway) it would usually be called more of a club than a bar – you can dance and there’s always loud music which makes conversation impossible, and the decor is more club-like than bar-like.
But yes, I would agree it has best djs in Shantou and is the only club/bar for partying that’s really worth going to.
A note on Love Bar. We went to check it out last Saturday. It’s a bit of trek to get there because of the construction on Haibin Lu. It did indeed look pretty good in the photos in the hotel lobby. We went up to the fifth floor, and found ourselves in pitch dark. We went back down to the lobby and inquired. Love Bar is closed one day a week…Saturday…
